Christmas 2022 Delivery update

Royal Mail workers are overworked and underpaid, so I fully support their strikes through November and December (you can see more about why they’re striking here.) As such, I’ve added in a couple of different couriers for UK delivery for Christmas 2022, including DPDlocal, Yodel, and Evri.

What’s the dealio with delivery?

As of September 2021, all items of Enthusiast apparel are purchased on a pre-order basis - you can find out more about that here. This means there is a slightly longer lead time on things than previously, but once your items are with me, they’re then sent out Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For, within 3 days*†. This means you can expect your items within 3 working days of dispatch.

International orders: all will be sent via a signed/tracked service. Please note any custom charges are your responsibility to pay.

*Why don’t you use a cheaper delivery service?

Great question! When lockdown started in 2020, I started to send everything Signed For to ensure that customers could keep track of their items even in the instance of delays. Until the Royal Mail network gets back on an even keel, I’ll send everything out this way to make sure it lands where it’s meant to be - in your loving arms!

† Why isn’t your P&P free like it used to be?

Beady eyed observer, I restructured my pricing in February 2021 (mainly in response to Brexit & increased supplier prices, but Royal Mail also increased their prices at this time.) As a consumer, I absolutely love free P&P - it’s like a game, a game I want to win - but I think lockdown definitely showed us all what an incredible job Royal Mail and our posties are doing, so I’m proud to be displaying that I use and trust them. With this in mind, rather than subsume P&P opaquely within the overall product cost, making my products less transparent and more expensive, I’ve decided to start charging it separately. What you see at checkout is Royal Mail’s cost, so I don’t make any profit from it (in actual fact, if you order multiple products, it now works out better for you, as you only pay postage for what you’ve bought!)

What’s your returns policy?

Your legal rights: When you buy goods from a business, in law you have a number of rights as a consumer. These include the right to claim a refund, replacement, repair and/or compensation where the goods are faulty or misdescribed. You also have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it, and may return it for a full refund, but you will have to pay the postage.

If you want to return your order, please get in touch for the return address. Please do send it unworn and in the condition it was sent. You have 14 days to return it. Please make sure you address it to my actual name as the Post Office won't let me collect parcels addressed to The Enthusiast without some form of official ID...I'm thinking about getting it tattooed on my forehead, but will keep you updated on that one. For now, just addressing it to my actual name would be a major help!

What’s with this whole ‘recycled packaging’ tickboxeroo?

As part of my bid to making The Enthusiast as earth-friendly and sustainable as possible, I use recycled and reused packaging wherever possible. This means that as standard, orders will be packed in packaging that has already been used at least once, and will probably have signs of its previous life on it. All items are still wrapped in tissue paper and lovingly prepped though! Read more about that here.

If this is a gift to send straight to a pal, you can opt out of this packaging option when you place your order.

Where can I find out more about the charities you support?

I’m proud to donate a monthly percentage of my profits to Glitch, a charity working tirelessly to end online abuse. You can find out more about them here: https://fixtheglitch.org

Part of the sales of my Caring Is Cool t-shirts go to Mind, the mental health charity, and Black Minds Matter, who work to connect Black individuals and families with free professional mental health services across the U.K. You can find out more about both of those here:
